Backup for QuickBooks, File Servers & NAS

Your most critical business data lives in QuickBooks files, shared drives, and NAS devices. We deploy the agent, configure the schedule, and manage the backups — you don't touch any software.

QuickBooks

QuickBooks Files

QuickBooks company files (.QBW) contain your entire financial history — invoices, payroll, accounts, vendor records. A single disk failure or ransomware attack can wipe years of accounting data. We back up your QuickBooks files daily with full version history, so you can restore to any point in time.

How we back it up: We install the restic agent on the host machine running QuickBooks and schedule backups during off-hours to avoid file locks. QuickBooks .QBW files require exclusive access during backup, so we time runs for when the application is idle. Only changed blocks are transferred on each run, keeping backup windows short.
File Servers

Windows & Linux File Servers

Windows and Linux file servers hold shared documents, project files, and company data that multiple people depend on. We install the backup agent directly on your server, schedule incremental backups, and monitor every run. Only changed data is transferred, keeping backup windows short.

How we back it up: The restic agent runs directly on your file server — Windows Server 2016+ or Linux. Daily incremental backups capture only changed blocks through content-defined chunking and deduplication. We monitor every run and alert on failures so nothing slips through the cracks.
NAS Devices

Synology, QNAP & NAS

Synology, QNAP, and other NAS devices are great for local storage — but they're not a backup strategy on their own. RAID protects against a single drive failure, not fire, theft, or ransomware. We back up your NAS to our off-site datacenter for true data protection.

How we back it up: Depending on your NAS model, we either install restic natively on the device or back up via a mounted network share from a nearby machine. Daily incremental transfers send only changed data to our encrypted off-site repository, giving you a completely independent copy of everything on your NAS.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. We schedule backups during off-hours or when QuickBooks isn't actively writing. Restic is also very efficient — it only reads changed blocks, not the entire file each time.

Restic connects outbound to our servers over SSH. No inbound ports need to be opened on your firewall. It works behind NAT and standard firewalls without any special configuration.
You can restore individual files, specific folders, or entire snapshots. Just tell us what you need and from what date.
